Deep red, and utterly glorious! This is how Hippeastrum ‘Daphne’ has been described, and we agree. The flowers blend several different tints of deep pink, through the purple-reds and maroons to near-black in the centres. Youll also find feint brushes of white on the tips of the petals. There is something rebellious and unusual about these flowers, which is difficult to describebut Amaryllis ‘Daphne’ are luxuriant, eye-catching, and theyll make a real talking point!
Each bulb of Hippeastrum ‘Daphne’ will produce two stems, reaching around 70cm in height. There will be three to four flowers on each stem: thats six to eight flowers from one bulb. You wont find many Hippeastrums that provide such a wealth of flower.
Dont be fooled into thinking that Amaryllis ‘Daphne’ is just a flower for the Christmas period. Bulbs may be planted over many months, meaning that bloom can be had from December through to Apriland even later.
