It has criss-crossing branches with dark green leavesthat look like tight miniature ferns. Red spikey flowers bloom year around with seed podsthat look like snow peas and when ripe they explode.This shrub is native to sandy washes, flats, and hillsides. You can plant a few and use these plants as a screen, plant one singularly, or plant in a deep pot.
