Curtain Call Pink Japanese Anemone holds its opening act in your garden just as other flowers begin their final act. The pretty little Japanese Anemone begins producing bright pink flowers in late summer, extending the season of color in the landscape. Reaching about 18 inches high and nearly as wide, Curtain Call Pink is filled with a mound of deep green leaves that serve as a perfect backdrop to the pink flowers with yellow centers. It’s a great choice to serve as a container filler, adding low, front color before taller plants.
Planting several Curtain Call Pink Japanese Anemone can add groups of color to garden beds or along sidewalks at a time when other plants are winding down. Curtain Call Pink spreads slowly through underground rhizomes, so it should continue to produce for years to come. It is cold hardy in zone 4 and able to take summer heat in zone 8. Butterflies love the pink flowers and deer and rabbits usually ignore Japanese Anemone.

Plant Curtain Call Pink Japanese Anemone in any type of soil that drains well and in full or part sun. Choose a spot that has some wind protection if possible. In warmer zones, either give the plant some afternoon shade or be sure it has a consistent supply of moisture. Mulch around the base of the anemone after planting and for the first couple of years. If a new Curtain Call pops up a few years after planting, you can easily dig it up and plant it where you like in spring.
