A dense sprawling California Native that grows up tothree feet highand wide. It spreads by rhizomes, creating a mat form. Orange redflowers bloom in the summer and fall. It is winter deciduous and its best to trim back after blooming in the late fall.

it is not recommended to prune the plant until it is established, about two years. Once established cut back hard every winter after the plant is done blooming. It should be cut back to 2 stubs. If the plant is not pruned, new growth will emerge at the tips of existing stems.
