Pacific Sunset Flannel Bush

The flannel bush is a hybrid betweenF. californica ssp. decumbensand ‘Californica Glory’. This fast growing bush grows up totwenty tall andtwenty feet wide.The leaves have a leathery and fuzzy texture reminiscent of flannel, and the yellow and orange flowers are large and showy. It haslargeorange-yellow cup-shaped flowers for a long period in spring. These plants have shallow roots that may be blown over by wind.This plant produces a pollen that can produce an allergic reaction.

You can prune this plant as needed. You shouldnt cut into old wood, prune hard, or make large pruning cuts. The foliage and young stems have brown hairs that can be irritating and might cause a rash.
