Built for cool-spring regions, the Frost® Peach Tree sets richly flavored, golden-yellow fruit even where late chills are the norm. Spring brings clouds of pink blossoms; summer rewards you with firm, aromatic peaches that hold their shape for fresh eating, baking, canning, and grilling. Compact, productive, and famously tough against spring swings, it’s a reliable cornerstone for backyard harvests.

Frost® Peach Tree Care

Choose a full-sun site (6–8+ hours) with well-drained, fertile soil and a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Keep moisture even from bloom through fruit swell—deeply water when the top few inches of soil begin to dry—then ease off a bit as fruit nears ripeness to intensify flavor.

Mulch 2–3 inches over the root zone (keep mulch off the trunk) to moderate temperature and conserve moisture. Feed in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer; avoid heavy midsummer nitrogen. Train and prune during winter dormancy to an open-center (vase) form for light and airflow, then thin developing peaches to about 6–8 inches apart for size and branch health.

Noted for strong tolerance to peach leaf curl and late cold snaps; expect best performance in USDA Zones 5–9 with a moderate to high chill requirement (~700+ hours). Self-fruitful—no second tree required—though pollinators can improve set.

Frost® Peach Tree Spacing

Spacing depends on rootstock. As a guide: dwarf trees 8–10 feet apart, semi-dwarf 12–15 feet, and standard 15–18 feet; keep rows 14–18 feet apart for airflow and easy picking. For a single specimen near patios or fences, allow at least 8–10 feet of horizontal room for the vase-shaped canopy.

In large containers (20–24″+ diameter), grow one tree per pot with sturdy staking, attentive watering, and annual renewal pruning.
