Manfreda ‘Anderson’ is an Aaron Floden collection of a North American native Manfreda virginica-like plant he discovered in Anderson County, Tennessee. For us, Manfreda ‘Anderson’ is composed of 6″ tall, fleshy green leaves with dark bloodspots near the base. The leaves of the deciduous rosette are held at a 45 degree angle, unlike the typically flat foliage of Manfreda virginica. The clumps are topped with 4′ tall flower spikes which emerge in late May (NC) and open in late June (NC) to reveal tan spider-shaped flowers.
