Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus ‘Minpapan1’ PPAF; CBRAF) has foliage that’s just as striking as its blooms. Paraplu Adorned™ is a type of variegated hibiscus, also known as ‘Rose of Sharon’. Its chartreuse leaves have dark green variegation. Light purple flowers with hot pink centers appear during midsummer. Paraplu Adorned™ is a great low-maintenance deciduous shrub that grows to a mature size of 8 – 10 feet tall by 3 – 4 feet wide.

Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus performs its best when it gets full sun and plenty of warmth. Its tall, upright growth habit makes for a beautiful hedge or screen. With its showy leaves and delicate flowers, this hibiscus can also be a standalone garden focal point. Paraplu Adorned™ attracts pollinators and is resistant to deer. Try this heat-loving, summer bloomer in your garden in USDA hardiness zones 5 – 9.

Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus Care

Plant your Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus in full to part sun. It should have well-draining, moist soil. Hibiscus doesn’t like its soil to get too dry. This plant benefits from annual fertilizer application. Use a granular fertilizer formulated for flowering shrubs.

Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus doesn’t require pruning. If you wish to control the shape or size, the best time to trim would be during the early spring before new growth emerges.

Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus Spacing

To allow for adequate airflow between plants, leave some space between each Paraplu Adorned™ Hibiscus. This plant can spread up to 4 feet wide, so space each plant at least that far apart.
