Thermopsis caroliniana, also known by its synonym Thermopsis villosa, is a hardy, clump-forming perennial with bright yellow lupin-like flowers that appear in long heads from May to August. Growing to around 85cm, it’s an easy plant to grow and is completely non-invasive, unlike many of its pea-family cousins.
A perfect fit for sunny borders, wildlife-friendly gardens, or naturalistic planting schemes, this cheerful bloomer adds reliable mid-season colour without taking over.
